They have to withstand high humidity, salty air and high wind speeds while ensuring a high overload capacity and a wide speed control range. The use of active parts for high efficiency in DOL/variable speed operation, this motor also helps to reduce energy usage. For ambient temperatures up to 50 °C, optionally also higher – Protected against humidity up to 100% and salty atmosphere.
Torque reserves for high surge loads and an overload capacity up to 230% – used as accelerating drives, our crane motors master any situation. The high power density facilitates compact dimensions.
Using a generously dimensioned terminal box, corrosion protection inside the motor and optionally available rugged mounting feet and flange manufactured from a torsionally stiff spheroidal graphite iron – our crane motors can cope with any task.
The robust cast iron motors have been specifically designed for rugged operation under tough crane operating conditions – in salt-laden atmospheres, high air humidity and high wind conditions. Typical applications in harbour environments include rubber-tired gantries, rail-mounted gantries, automatic stacking cranes etc.
