Oct 15, 2007 | Siemens Water Technologies Focuses on Sustainable Solutions at WEFTEC“Economical and responsible use of water and the protection of source water have become increasingly important. Our customers are demanding solutions to help them ensure sustainability in their communities,” stated Roger Radke, CEO of Siemens Water Technologies, at a luncheon meeting with water trade editors during the 80th annual Water Environment Federation WEFTEC conference in San Diego on October 15. more |
Oct 15, 2007 | Siemens Announces Biological Process Optimization Program with BioFlowsheet+ SolutionsSiemens Water Technologies announces BioFlowsheet+ Solutions, its new biological process optimization program, which integrates the main unit operations of a wastewater treatment plant, by evaluating effluent requirements, land availability and specific cost factors such as energy use, labor, and disposal costs. Through Siemens’ extensive process knowledge and product expertise, its biological treatment experts can review an entire system and ensure process integration and optimization--with a single point of process responsibility. more |
Oct 15, 2007 | Siemens Announces Product Enhancements to its Disc FilterSiemens Water Technologies announced product enhancements to its Forty-X disc filter, formerly known as the Spider Disc Filter. The tertiary filter disc technology incorporates several new product improvements including a pressure-assisted seal, a trash-tolerant box design, and sliding tank covers. more |
Oct 15, 2007 | Siemens Expands ENR product line with the Centrol Filter System with Denitrification EnhancementSiemens Water Technologies expands its enhanced nutrient removal (ENR) capabilities with the new Centrol Filter System with denitrification enhancement. The filter enhancement allows municipalities to reduce nitrogen in wastewater to levels suitable for discharge into receiving water bodies. more |

Sep 26, 2007 | Energy-saving Processes with Sipaper Water: Siemens Upgrades and Extends Wastewater Treatment Plant at Mondi Frohnleiten, AustriaThe Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Group has been contracted by the Austrian corrugating base producer Mondi Packaging Frohnleiten GmbH to extend the company's wastewater treatment plant. A fiber extraction and anaerobic pre-stage from the “Sipaper Water” line will be integrated into the existing cleaning circuit. This will allow the processing of approximately 3,600 m3/d of wastewater with a COD (chemical oxygen demand) load of 20 tons. What's more, up to 6,400 m3/d of biogas will be produced for power generation in the facility. CO2 emissions will thus be reduced considerably by the utilization of biogas and the lower power consumption of the new wastewater treatment plant. The value of the project amounts to some two million euros, and the project is scheduled to come on stream in April 2008. more |
Sep 25, 2007 | Siemens I&S: Innovations boost business in industrial projectsFor the Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Group (I&S), systematic innovation management makes a considerable contribution towards securing and expanding its leading position in the market as a supplier of equipment for industrial and infrastructure installations. I&S does not have its own research departments but, instead, relies on international cooperation with universities and research institutes. “We invest around EUR 150 million in new products and systems every year”, says Dr. Dieter Wegener, I&S technology head, “and they account for EUR 1.5 billion of the total volume of I&S sales in the first three subsequent years”. With this strategy, I&S is securing its strong technology position which is an important prerequisite for its present and future competitiveness. more |
Sep 04, 2007 | Siemens to Provide a 30-MGD Membrane Treatment System Expansion for the City of Scottsdale, ArizonaSiemens Water Technologies has been awarded an $8.45 million (6,25 million euros) contract by Archer Western Contractors to expand the Scottsdale Water Campus Central Arizona Project (CAP) drinking water treatment plant. Archer Western is a general contractor working for the City of Scottsdale, Arizona. Siemens will supply a 30 million gallons per day (MGD) (113.5 MLD) system that uses the latest Memcor CP membrane technology. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2009. more |
Aug 28, 2007 | Siemens Water Technologies to Supply Produced Water Treatment System at Saudi Aramco’s Safaniya PlantENPPI has selected Siemens Water Technologies to provide a produced water treatment system as part of an expansion at Saudi Aramco’s Safaniya plant in the Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The new system will remove high concentrations of free oil from the water stream with the dissolved gas flotation (DGF) method from Siemens, so the water can be used for subsurface re-injection. The capacity will be 850,000 barrels of water per day (BWPD). The project is scheduled to begin operation mid-year 2008. more |
Aug 15, 2007 | Siemens: The water sector needs better conditions to attract investments and ensure sustainable suppliesWorldwide water consumption must be more efficiently managed and waste-water treatment expanded to guarantee supplies for people and continued economic development. “The market is growing strongly. Open questions and uncertainties about financing water-treatment technology are blocking efforts to raise private capital,” Johannes Schmidt, member of the management board of the Siemens division Siemens Financial Services, told representatives of global governments and non-governmental organizations during the World Water Week in Stockholm. Unlike other infrastructure areas, private investors have shown little interest in putting their funds into the water business. The conditions for investments and the risk-return profile for investments in the water market must be improved if they are to compete for capital against projects in energy distribution, healthcare and transport. more |
