Intuitive Engineering Right from the Start

Easy to learn and easy to use

Task and user-oriented

  • Reduced training effort

  • Fast access to relevant tools

  • Safety-related tasks in same engineering as standard tasks

At the start of a project, you can choose between the portal view, which takes you intuitively through each engineering step, and the project view, which offers you fast access to the relevant tools.
The TIA Portal thus helps new and experienced users to work as productively as possible.

Uniform look and feel for all program editors

  • Fast and uniform operation

  • Shorter engineering timet

The design of the software editors in the TIA Portal is based on a common layout and a common navigation concept. Every environment – whether it's configuring hardware, logic programming, parameterisation of a frequency converter or designing an HMI screen – has the same editor design that is geared specifically towards saving time and money. Functions, properties and libraries are shown automatically in their most intuitive view, depending on the required task - even for all fail-safe components.

Flexible screen layout ensures optimised work area

  • Clear project display

  • Flexible window arrangement

The TIA Portal offers an advanced software architecture whose design is based on a simple navigation system. It’s carefully conceived ergonomics ensure maximum efficiency and time savings.
All the editors are clearly arranged, easily accessible and customisable. Users always have a complete overview of the project without having to click through complicated menus or structures.

Graphical network and device configuration

  • Fast network configuration for entire application

  • Easy graphical configuration

Configuration and networking for the entire hardware are performed in the fully graphical device and network view. Controllers, HMI devices, PCs and drives can be networked through easy graphical configuration of connections.
This is made possible by easy-to-use functions such as drag&drop of variables or hardware components and straightforward copy&paste of program parts.
