SIMIT is designed as a modular system consisting of basic software SIMIT BASIC and various functional expansions.
A typical system configuration consists of the SIMIT basic software SIMIT BASIC and at least a single interface software module, optionally with interface hardware, libraries and add-ons.

PRODAVE V6.1 is required. Not released for Windows 7. PRODAVE is not included in the delivery package.
PLCSIM interface – for linking SIMIT to S7-PLCSIM.
Windows 7 requires PLCSIM V5.4 SP4. PLCSIM is not included in the delivery package.
Profibus DP interface – for linking SIMIT to Profibus DP.
Can only be used for and together with SIMIT interface hardware IM-PBDP-2, IM-PBDP-4, and IM-PBDP-8.

Licensing:
One SIMIT license comprises all software modules licensed under a license number.
The software is protected by means of a USB dongle (hardlock). A dongle is delivered with the basic software SIMIT BASIC. Every dongle bears a unique license number. A license key matched to the license number is delivered for SIMIT BASIC as well as for every software module. During installation, the corresponding software module is activated by entering the license key.
