A precondition for this is the logging, processing and monitoring of machine data, along with integrated plant monitoring.

The picture that emerges of the machine and the plant is extensive and detailed. The possibilities range from logging of amounts per job and type of part to the machine’s efficiency and cycle times to alarm diagnosis. Evaluations by shift are also possible, as is a comparison between machines or machine groups. Features such as the integrated plant calendar or graphical plant mapping make it easy to utilize these options.

All of this enables consistent plant monitoring and individual analyses, which serve as the basis for making decisions. The machine data can also flow into OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) figures, in order to be able to objectively evaluate the effectiveness of the whole plant.
