Siemens has been actively involved in the design and
implementation of comprehensive physical security
systems for many ports and harbours. For example,
Siemens designed and installed detailed
perimeter/physical security systems for nine ports
throughout Greece incorporating CCTV systems, licence
plate recognition systems, dedicated command and control
centers etc. The innovative technology Siemens employs,
such as the fast and reliable container scanners already
in operation, document checking, biometric face
recognition and other products and systems, is merged
harmoniously into an integrated security solution fully
compliant with the new IMO / ISPS code.
