Siemens Building Technologies offers comprehensive access control solutions for demanding organizations of any size. Siemens access control solutions, such as “SiPass networked” or ”SiPass integrated”, enable access to restricted areas such as in airports, office blocks, banks, plus many more applications, to be controlled at all times. ”SiPass integrated” enables members of staff, vendors or contractors to be issued with an access card which determines which areas they can gain access to, and when. The same access card can be used for realizing a time & attendance solution. Organizations running multiple satellite buildings benefit from central management of access rights, allowing staff to access any building with a single access card.

With the advance in technologies, this also means that CCTV can be set to record on alarms generated at an access control point (in case of a forced entry for example), and video footage can be accessed and managed remotely, over the network, from a central control room.

Access rights are managed via a central database, and can be tailored to suit the access requirements of each member of staff, based upon seniority or working hours. Doors are permanently locked unless a legitimate user presents an authorized card to a reader at the door, or enters the correct code. Biometrics fingerprint technology by Siemens can be integrated to reach an even higher security level for special areas.

For buildings occupied by multiple organizations, and with different opening times, ”SiPass integrated” allows multi-tenant functionality, meaning each organization can manage their access control setting independently based on access rights requirements and opening hours.

Security solutions from Siemens are upgradeable and expandable, so there is no need to install a brand new system if a businesses requirements change, for example:

  • Increasing the size or number of the premises to be secured
  • Upgrading an existing security system

Access control solutions from Siemens integrate with other Building Management functionality, e.g. CCTV, fire safety, intruder detection or management stations for added flexibility and control over the whole buildings management.

Customer benefits:

  • ensures any organizations full control over its facilities – whether locally or globally
  • manages up to 1 million cardholders and almost any number of access points
  • integration of CCTV video surveillance and biometrics fingerprint management for higher security requirements
  • integration with other Building Management systems e.g. fire safety, intrusion detection or overall management stations for control over the whole building
  • realizing various applications with one access card such as:
    • access to buildings
    • access to car parks
    • time & attendance
    • cashless payment
    • IT-security (e.g. email encryption)
