Siemens Communications develops biometric algorithm for electronic
ID cards in Spain
Siemens Communications is providing biometrics for new electronic ID
cards in Spain. A pilot project in the Burgos province has already
begun. By 2012, 30 million citizens of Spain will have this
identification card.
Hampshire Constabulary (Police in Southern England)
Siemens Communications installs an Identity Management solution at
Hampshire Constabulary, which is the police force in charge of
Hampshire County and the Isle of White in Southern England. This
solution enables secure access to sensitive information and greater
efficiency of the business processes
Siemens Communications and SAP have announced their collaboration in
the field of identity management and IT security within the Global
Security Alliance framework. Members in the Global Security
Alliance, which was founded by SAP Consulting in March 2005, include
leading vendors of security and risk management solutions. By
sharing reference projects and integrating their technologies,
Alliance members can offer their customers wall-to-wall solutions
more quickly than before.
Siemens strengthens its IT security portfolio in the area of
Identity and Access Management
Siemens Communications has expanded its HiPath SIcurity DirX product
family with the exclusive purchase of the “Global Trust” product
from Canadian company OKIOK. As a result, key features have been
added to HiPath SIcurity DirX Access: The new software enables the
authentication of identities and the granting and monitoring of
access rights to protected Web resources (as per the Identity
Federation concept).
