Innovation
What technology really achieves
Siemens AG has always been a company of inventors and patents. Werner
von Siemens (1816-1892)—the brilliant inventor and visionary
entrepreneur of the second half of the nineteenth century—not only gave
significant impulses to the then infant electrical engineering, but
also—at the same time—decisively advanced the development of the
industry. Nowadays, Siemens makes seven thousand inventions each year,
and a patent is applied for two thirds of them. The Siemens AG Group
alone runs eleven research and development centers located throughout
the world.
When it comes to product development, one always has to find the golden
path between innovation at the right time and with the right means. To
be of benefit to our customers, an innovation always has to function
reliably and be available at a competitive market price.
Our leading position in placement technology, postal automation,
logistics automation and solutions for airports and airlines results
from the factor that motivates us and improves our technology:
innovation.
