Siemens-led Consortium to equip Single Lift Vessel

A consortium headed by Siemens has received an order from Monitor Oil PLC, Cayman Islands, to equip a semi-submersible Single Lift Vessel (SLV). The consortium is composed of Siemens AS, Oslo, Norway, Wärtsila Finland Oy and Kongsberg Maritime AS. The project volume amounts to 37 million euros. Handover to Monitor Oil is scheduled for March 2008.


Single Lift Vessel No. 1 of Monitor Oil will be equipped by Siemens, Wärtsila Finland and Kongsberg Maritime.
  The vessel is to be used for construction and decommissioning of offshore installations as well as for providing support during maintenance and transport activities. Siemens will supply the electrical power equipment and the telecommunications system, Wärtsila is providing the diesel engines and propulsion systems, while Kongsberg Marine is responsible for the rig´s control and the dynamic positioning system. As the head of the consortium, Siemens is also responsible for system integration. The SLV is designed by Single Lift Technology AS in Stavanger, Norway. The owner is Monitor Oil PLC, Cayman Islands. Project management and system engineering will be carried out by Siemens Norway. Design and production of the rig will take place at locations in Finland, the Netherlands, China and Norway.
