Erlangen 2006-03-01

Siemens Power Generation (PG) has secured orders from Azerbaijan, Russia and Hungary for turbomachinery equipment for the oil and gas industry. Five gensets are for the Russian company Naryanmarneftegaz. Three gas turbine-driven compressor packages were ordered by MOL in Hungary and two gas turbine compressor trains are for the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). The total order value is approximately EUR 80 million.

The five SGT-600 gensets for Russia will be delivered to the Yuzhno-Khylchuyu oil field, presently under development in northern Russia. Construction and commissioning of the five units is scheduled for completion by the summer of 2007.

The three compressor trains for MOL Natural Gas Storage of Budapest in Hungary will be equipped with SGT-100 gas turbines. The packages, comprising three dual shaft gas turbines and three direct-driven compressors, are to be installed at Hajduszoboszlo, Hungary. The machines, based on proven components from the Siemens PG portfolio have been designed for maximum efficiency and economy. Delivery is scheduled for autumn 2006.

In Azerbaijan, Siemens PG has secured an order for two compressor trains each comprising one SGT-400 gas turbine driver and a two-body compressor. They will be installed on an existing platform in the Gunashli oil field in the Azerbaijan waters of the Caspian Sea and will be operated by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). The units will form part of a new gas compression module, which will be added to prolong the production life of the field. Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for November 2006.

The Power Generation Group (PG) of Siemens AG is one of the premier companies in the international power generation sector. In fiscal 2005 (which ended September 30), Siemens PG posted sales amounting to approximately EUR8.1 billion and received new orders totaling EUR10.9 billion. Group profit amounted to EUR951 million.
