Siemens VAI offers advanced environmental technologies for the efficient capture and cleaning of secondary emissions arising in the steelplant.
Secondary emissions are captured from:
The dust-laden fumes are collected directly at the emission source by means of suction hoods. From the various emission points, suction ducts convey the fumes to the bag filter, where the dust is precipitated before the cleaned gas released to atmosphere. Advanced pulse-jet cleaning is applied for the bag filters. Radial ID fans located downstream the bag filter provide the required draft to efficiently evacuate the fumes.
Siemens VAI has made a cost-saving innovation with the development of static coolers. Static coolers are installed in the charging suction ducts and absorb the high thermal power during hot metal charging. Therefore, static coolers considerably reduce required suction capacities and allow for increased process safety and improved long-term reliability of the charging cranes. Moreover, steel producers gain more flexibility with respect to scrap quality and hot metal pouring time.
