4.1 m wide plate mill of Wuyang, China The challenge A basic requirement for successful operation of a plate/Steckel mill is on one hand the mastery of the entire process chain from feed-in of the slab to finishing of the plates resp. strips, and on the other hand the integration of sensors, drives and mechatronical packages all the way to the production planning and management levels. High overall availability of the plant must be guaranteed just as well as flexible adaptation of capacity and functionality. The trend of rolling advanced high strength steel grades requires even more powerful equipment in the mill stand, the main drives and the downstream plate finishing plant.

Our solution

SIROLLCIS PM addresses the complex technological correlations of plate and Steckel mills. This includes, for example, minimizing the tolerances across the entire plate through analytical process models and neural networks. Optimum physical properties are achieved through special process models for thermo-mechanical rolling. Automated "batch" rolling of several plates in thermomechanic mode ensures the product quality at highest utilization of the mill line. The right “drive” is provided by out drive solutions, which help to reduce maintenance costs through self-diagnostics. Aside from the rolling mill itsself our scope of supply comprises: - MULPIC Cooling equipment for ACC and DQ Mode - Hot and cold levelling machines - Plate shears of all kind - Planning and engineering of the entire plate adjusting plant - Steckel furnaces Part of SIROLLCIS PM is also MES solutions for optimizing cutting of the plates.
