SIPAPERCIS APC
Advanced process Control

SIPAPERCIS APC (Advanced Process Control) is a module of the SIPAPERCIS product family from Siemens, offering model based solutions for process control and optimization.

The challenge
The paper industry today faces constantly increasing quality requirements, sustained cost pressure and quality variations of raw materials. Process optimization is of particular importance for the whole paper production process. The goal is to reach the required product quality reliable while minimizing the costs for raw material, additives and energy. What’s needed are new, model-based controllers that are intelligently and robustly designed for the desired complex process correlations. Only in this way can a continuous optimization of the plant operation be achieved at every operating level.

Our solution
SIPAPERCIS APC is integral part of SIPAPERCIS DCS, but can also be connected to other process control systems. The software consists of approved libraries (optimization, neural networks, robust control, ...). The process models are developed especially for the paper industry and will be adapted to the concrete conditions of the plant. The set points calculated by the system are transfered to the DCS. SIPAPERCIS APC Bleach controls the dosage of bleaching chemicals in one or in several bleaching stages. SIPAPERCIS APC DrySec optimizes the operation of the dryer section.

Good reasons for SIPAPERCIS APC
  • Improvement and stabilization of the fiber quality for the paper production
  • Fast achieving of the requested quality parameters after machine start or grade change
  • Significant savings due to cost-optimized chemicals in DIP plants and mechanical pulp
  • Energy saving in the dryer section
  • Reduced environmental impact
