SIMINECIS Winder
Mine winders for underground mining

Safety and performance

The performance of underground mines depends critically on the capability of the hoisting equipment. The aim is to increase this capability without endangering the safety of persons during the transport in the shaft.

Many Siemens hoisting machines are being used successfully in the field
The challenge
The capability of the hoisting equipment influences the performance of underground mines.
And the demands placed on the hoisting motors and their converters are enormous because the shaft is a bottleneck, a location where as much as possible must be transported as safely as possible, not only the conveyed material and the equipment, but also human beings. The maximum possible plant availability with the maximum loading is thus critical for a smooth and economical process in a hoisting plant.

With speeds up to 70 km/h, skips and other conveying equipment are sent down and up again in each single cycle. In particular, the approximately 15-second acceleration phase and the smooth braking at the end of the travel place extreme demands on the drive, control and safety engineering.
In particular,
- converters and their energy supply must provide reserves beyond the rated power
- the drive components must be constructed to prevent motor overloading.

Our solution
And this is how your plant achieves peak performance

We ensure the highest safety and the improved throughput in the shaft. This we achieve using innovative solutions for the drive engineering, performance-optimizing drive-level closed-loop controls and a safety-oriented automation engineering.
We focus on the recommendation and implementation of the appropriate drive system – adapted to the conditions of the power supply system and tailored to your power rectifier "philosophy". Our technological closed-loop controls ensure the harmonious customization of the travel behavior to the specific requirements of your shaft system.
A standardized SIMATIC-based control and safety system (travel controller) serves as basis for our solution. This means all conceivable variations of drive and control systems are technologically possible. The systems and components of the SIMATIC S7 world have proven themselves millions of times and are used daily in countless applications across all industrial sectors. This also benefits our control and safety system which is certified in Germany in accordance with the stringent technical demands placed on shaft and slope conveyors (TAS) and the mining regulations (BVOS).

This provides the best prerequisites for high productivity, availability, ease of maintenance and safety underground.

Good reasons for SIMINECIS Winder
  • Reduction of oscillations due to the use of intelligent control algorithms brings increased performance through shorter cycle times and lower maintenance costs / increased availability as a result of the careful treatment of the mechanical components
  • Intelligent travel control optimizes/reduces the travel times
  • Maximum safety through the use of a redundant, tested safety system
  • Investment protection through the use of standardized industry components
