SINAVYCIS DC PROP provides optimal solutions for submarine propulsion. These DC motors feature a double-armature motor design, offering great efficiency and reliability. They have been used successfully in more than 130 submarines across the globe.

The challenge
Submarines require highly reliable propulsion systems to endure long periods of operation, sometimes under extreme conditions. Redundant components are essential to guarantee system availability at all times.

Our solution
SINAVYCIS DC PROP propulsion motors for submarines feature double-armature technology, offering the greatest efficiency for all speeds, from patrol (silent mode) to cruising speed. To achieve excellent reliability, the system features two entirely independent partial-motors as well as exciter current feed from at least two sources. In addition, SINAVYCIS DC PROP results in noise signatures that fall far below the limits established by shipyards. Across the globe, Siemens has provided SINAVYCIS DC PROP propulsion motors for more than 130 submarines. The standardized modules that make up SINAVYCIS DC PROP can be freely combined with one another, making it easy to adapt the system to a particular vessel’s needs. The components offer excellent reliability and a high degree of availability.
