SISHIPCIS WHRS   
Waste Heat Recovery System - economical and clean ship power generation

The SISHIP WHRS system offers clean and economic power generation from the exhaust gas onboard of 2-stroke powered vessels. The energy surplus, which is available from the exhaust gas flow in addition to what is required for the turbo charger, will be utilized to drive a turbo generator set. Additionally this turbo generator set is driven by excess steam from the exhaust gas boiler. The resulting electrical power can be used for auxiliary purposes on board e.g. to feed a booster motor.

The challenge
Increasing fuel cost and growing demands for improved environmental protection technology play an ever greater role in the initial design of today’s vessels. In addition requirements for undelayed sailing schedules, safer operation and lower maintenance efforts influence the choice of the main propulsion drive systems. Demands for more flexibility and reduced initial investment combined with more efficient ship designs will also continue to determine the future of container vessels.

Our solution
SISHIPCIS Boost with WHRS / TES (Thermo Efficient Systems) combines the advantages of SISHIP Boost and the benefits of so-called waste heat recovery systems or TES. The recovery of thermal losses results in significant energy savings and increased propulsion performance. At the same time, it is a clean solution. What is more, the system is compliant with large main-engine designs of manufactures such as Wärtsilä, Sulzer and MAN B&W.
