Siemens offers two different automation systems to comply with various requirements within the
shipbuilding business.

IMAC High End-Automation System

For passenger ships or cargo ships with demands for a highly sophisticated monitoring and control Siemens provides the Integrated Monitoring Alarm and Control System “SISHIP IMAC”.

A very large number of input respectively output channels, redundant network structures, hot standby process control units and the capability to handle very complex process controls are the key features of this system.

Furthermore the system provides electronic interfaces to other systems on board and ensures the Completely Integrated Solution wherever it is required. No question, the Human Machine Interface (HMI) is absolutely state of the art and supports the user to do his responsible work.

IMAC L basic Automation System

For ships where a high-end automation is not essential Siemens has designed a system with great features but different base structure. The main focus here is more to provide a distributed and fault tolerant system with a ring bus communication structure.

This basic Integrated Monitoring Alarm and Control System “SISHIP IMAC L” is suitable for all ships where a SISHIP IMAC is not required.

With respect to the HMI, SISHIP IMAC L provides the same comfortable and state of the art HMI as SISHIP IMAC. → more
