SINAVY^CIS SUB - Completely Integrated Solutions for Submarines

For over 125 years Siemens has been recognized as a world leader in the development of marine solutions that increase shipboard productivity and add value to our customer's operations.
As a comprehensive industry-specific solution for naval vessels, the SINAVY^CIS product family integrates all the products needed for sustained maximization of naval vessel's performance over the whole life cycle.

SINAVY^CIS SUB is the Siemens brand name for Solutions of Electrical Platform Systems for submarines. Within the last 50 years Siemens has supplied 150 of such solutions for submarines of various navies. Our extensive know-how in all fields of electric power generation, conversion and distribution, propulsion drives and platform automation is used to full effect onboard a large number of submarines of the German Navy, NATO forces and other friendly overseas navies. Customer solutions not only refer to product supply but also to all kind of related services like documentation, training, training simulators, life cycle management etc.

To meet the requirements of modern submarines for considerably extended submerged endurance and significantly low signatures, Siemens contributes with special applications such as the primary power supply with advanced SINAVY^CIS Fuel Cell technology as the basis of the Air Independent Propulsion system (AIP) and the permanently excited SINAVY^CIS Permasyn propulsion motors, both implemented onboard the latest German submarine generations class 212 and 214.

Research and development work is currently focussing in the areas of innovative concepts for ship propulsion and compact high-powered electrical energy generation. Based e. g. on high-temperature superconductor technology (HTS) new revolutionary solutions appear on the horizon.
