Geothermal power plant technology
Siemens uses an advanced, optimized form of
Kalina technology for geothermal power plants. Unlike conventional
power plants, which use water as the working medium, SiGeo uses a
mixture of ammonia and water. This mixture vaporizes at considerably
lower temperatures than water and provides the most efficient means
of transferring heat compared with other working media.
Siemens optimizes the power plant for your requirements (see
graphic).
| We take into account your requirements for tapping
process heat and district heating as well as all possible
cooling options, such as wet, dry, hybrid, and direct
cooling, depending on local factors.
Connection to the existing power supply system, including
adapting the voltage levels if necessary, rounds out our
range of services.
We pay particular attention to
selecting the right material for the heat exchangers to
ensure that it is suitable for the thermal water that you’ll
be using. The modern equipment in our Erlangen materials
test laboratory enables us to select the optimum material
for the heat exchangers through comprehensive testing and
research.
