Simulation & Testing - SIMBApro PCI
SIMBApro PCI is a basic, user-friendly module for performing
simulations.
|
SIMBApro PCI is a component of the SIMBApro simulation system. It
enables all kinds of elements to be simulated, from distributed
peripherals to a complete real-time simulation of the plant and process.
SIMBApro PCI simulates the response of peripherals on the field bus. |

Our Solution
SIMBApro PCI is a PCI plug-in card for PCs that can be configured and
operated using the supplied Windows32 driver or the PC program, which is
likewise included in the scope of supply. The existing API interface
allows external applications read/write access to data for the simulated
peripherals. As well as data access there is also a facility to trigger
various alarms. Thus, for instance, a station failure, process alarm or
diagnostic alarm can be triggered whilst the plant is operating. A
SIMBApro PCI card can simulate either an individual bus system, two
independent bus systems or a redundant bus system. Combined operation
with existing peripherals is possible. Profibus DP and Profibus PA
systems, whose subscribers can be either standard or S7 slaves (e.g.
Micromaster, Simovert, ET200M) can be simulated. The FPGA technology
involved allows additional functionality to meet specific customer
requirements.
SIMBApro includes an open API interface that enables any Windows
application to work online with SIMBApro PCI. The "Application
Programming Interface" (API) provides a defined programming interface
that can be used by software developers. Data transfer between
applications and the SIMBApro PCI hardware is implemented via the API.
Process simulation packages like SIMIT, Labview, Matlab, WinMOD etc. can
thus work efficiently online with SIMBApro PCI. These process simulation
packages as well as any in-house simulation programs permit hardware to
be addressed easily using logical addresses or symbol names.
