Energy Control System - ECS
Optimize your power consumption - save money

Our Energy Control System (ECS) provides you with accurate load forecast for your energy purchase and helps to keep subscriber contracts. In addition it helps to make the power consumption of your production smooth. The system processes all common resources and permits configuration and parameter setting online without IT know-how.

The challenge
For a long time now power costs in industry have no longer been able to be neglected and are critically analyzed by the business community as a whole.
  • Production managers are under considerable pressure to identify power-saving potential and sources of loss.
  • Companies want to have transparency in their power distribution network in order to allocate power costs to the production units.
  • Procurement agents who purchase their company’s power require an accurate consumption forecast in order to purchase this power at an optimum cost – even when the company may have its own power generation system.

  • Managing your power means to know your real consumption.

ECS precisely identifies the procurement, distribution and consumption of power.

    Our solution
The Energy Control System ECS records the consumption profile of selected loads or load groups and stores this information for further analysis. In addition to the consumption of electrical power, the system also records natural gas, water, or compressed air consumption. The weekly and daily consumption prognoses form a solid foundation for negotiations on future energy supply contracts. To avoid expensive load peaks and to ensure conformity to power supply contracts, ECS switches electrical equipment on and off intelligently without interrupting the production process. The system also takes into account the effective and reactive power requirements as well as the boundary conditions defined in the supply contracts. Load management of this kind is the basis for precise load prognoses. As a SIMATIC-based system, ECS can be readily integrated into your automation landscape. A SIMATIC K communication network is an advantage, but is not a necessity for integration.

We offer a package solution for upgrading your power supply system with ECS, including all the services needed, from a competent single source:
  • Clarification of specific requirements.
  • Adaptation of the ECS configuration and functionality to your needs.
  • Supply and installation of required hardware and software components.
  • Rapid commissioning by experienced specialists.
  • Complete documentation of the project, including a project-specific operator manual.
  • Training of operating personnel.

  • An optimal service contract, covering your entire power supply system, ensures high equipment availability spanning a number of years. That makes sound financial sense.

Good reasons for Energy Control System - ECS
    • Reduction of energy costs through reduction of load peaks and consistent conformity to optimized supply contracts
    • Identification of transmission losses through comparison of supply values, distributed power, and the load values of individual consumers
    • Reduction of future network investments through optimal use of reserves in installed networks
