High voltage motors employing a modular cooling concept in shaft height 710 or 800 mm with power ratings up to 19 MW with welded steel enclosure for applications in sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, steel, shipbuilding, cement, fiber, water & wastewater and power generation. For compressors in the oil & gas industry, including pipelines, gas storage, air separation and LNG applications, the SIMOTICS HV M motors are available with special coating systems to protect against very humid, salty marine or chemically aggressive environments and are able to comply with Norsok specifications. The SIMOTICS HV M is also available with explosion protection of Ex n (Zone 2) and Ex p (Zone 1) to ensure a maximum degree of safety. Double certification (e.g. with Ex pz and simultaneously Ex nA) can also be implemented on request. The motor is also offered in special designs for low temperatures down to – 50 °C for projects in arctic environments and for compliance with API standards and the associated high requirements regarding vibration quality frequently specified in the oil and gas industry.
For rolling mill applications in the steel and non-ferrous metals industry SIMOTICS HV M motors
are available with rated torques of up to 192 kNm, high overload capability and a wide field weakening range.
For shipbuilding applications such as thruster or main propulsion SIMOTICS HV M motors are available with lightweight and space-saving design especially optimized for ships, quiet, low-vibration operation to enhance the level of comfort on board of passenger vessels, and special coating systems to protect against corrosion caused by aggressive, salty marine environments. This motor is in full compliance with the specifications of leading marine classification societies.
For Chemical applications such as pumps, fans, compressors, extruders SIMOTICS HV Series SIMOTICS HV M motors are available with explosion protection Ex nA, Ex p, as well as a corrosion resistant design.
In the cement industry SIMOTICS HV M addresses high power mill, kiln and fan applications, such as raw mill drives, raw mill ventilation, exhaust fans, cement mill drives and cement mill fans.
In the water industry SIMOTICS HV M motors are used in main pumping stations up to 11.7 MW for raw water intake, drinking water supply, irrigation supply and long distance water transport as well as high pressure pumps in reverse osmoses desalination process.
In the energy sector SIMOTICS HV M motors are focusing on pump and fan applications up to 11.7 MW in the power plant, such as coolant pumps, boiler fed pumps, district heating pumps, fresh air blowers, and ID (induced draft) fans.
