High voltage motors employing a modular cooling concept in with welded steel enclosure (shaft height 450 up to 560 mm on request) for applications in sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, steel, shipbuilding, cement, fiber, water & wastewater and power generation. Project execution times are sped up as a result of the short delivery times and the fact that these motors can be simply engineered to address the application. Due to the flexible concept, the motor can be precisely adapted to the appropriate application. This is complemented by outstanding reliability, a high degree of mechanical stiffness as well as a weight-optimized and noise-dampening design.

    Chemical and Petrochemical

    For compressors in the oil & gas industry, including pipelines, gas storage, air separation and LNG applications, the SIMOTICS HV M motors are available with special coating systems to protect against very humid, salty marine or chemically aggressive environments and are able to comply with Norsok specifications. The SIMOTICS HV M is also available with explosion protection of Ex n (Zone 2) and Ex p (Zone 1) to ensure a maximum degree of safety. Double certification (e.g. with Ex pz and simultaneously Ex nA) can also be implemented on request. The motor is also offered in special designs for low temperatures down to – 50 °C for projects in arctic environments and for compliance with API standards and the associated high requirements regarding vibration quality frequently specified in the oil and gas industry.


    For rolling mill applications in the steel and non-ferrous metals industry SIMOTICS HV M motors
    are available with rated torques of up to 192 kNm, high overload capability and a wide field weakening range.

    For shipbuilding applications such as thruster or main propulsion SIMOTICS HV M motors are available with lightweight and space-saving design especially optimized for ships, quiet, low-vibration operation to enhance the level of comfort on board of passenger vessels, and special coating systems to protect against corrosion caused by aggressive, salty marine environments. This motor is in full compliance with the specifications of leading marine classification societies.
