Extremely compact design
SIMOTICS HV Series H-modyn three-phase machines are distinguished by their extremely compact design, center-flanged sleeve bearings ensure a short distance between bearings, which means that the complete machine is significantly shorter. Furthermore horizontally arranged coolers result in a very low machine height. With the SIMOTICS HV Series H-modyn, the main terminal box as well as the auxiliary terminal boxes are mounted on the motor base frame, without any connections to the mounted cover with the integrated cooler. This means that the winding connections are decoupled from the cover, and the cover can be lifted without releasing the connections. The favorable ratio between the height of the baseframe and the mounted cover results in an extremely low installation and crane hook height.

In the oil & gas industry applications SIMOTICS HV Series H-modyn motors are focusing on high-power oil pipeline pumps, gas pipeline compressors and gas to liquid compressors. In support of these applications the motors are available with special coating systems resistant to corrosion in aggressive or salty marine environment, designed for high impact loads, available with explosion protection for zone 2 (Ex n) and zone 1 (Ex p), as well as satisfying key oil & gas standards like API (API 541, API 546).
In the petrochemical Industry SIMOTICS HV Series H-modyn motors are mainly used for high power mixer and extruder applications, with features such as special coating systems resistant to corrosion in chemical, aggressive ambient air environments, special design for high impact loads, and explosion protection for zone 2 (Ex n) and zone 1 (Ex p). Air separation applications such as air compressors are also covered by this motor.
The main application field of SIMOTICS HV Series H-modyn in the pulp & paper industry are high power refiners.
In the water industry SIMOTICS HV Series H-modyn motors are used in extraordinary large main pumping stations with particularly high power ratings.
In the metals industry SIMOTICS HV Series H-modyn motors are mainly used for high power sinter fans and blast furnace blowers, but can also be found in select rolling mill applications as well.
