Project description
To take better advantage of its
outstanding growth prospects, the
operating authority of Dubai
International Airport decided to
construct a second runway to the north
of the current one. Optimal safety and
availability as well as a high degree
of operating flexibility were top
priorities in the choice of the surface
movement guidance and control system.
The contract covering the complete
airfield lighting and the airfield
lighting control system was awarded to
Siemens - and comprises approximately
4200 light fittings for the runway, the
taxiway, the guidance signs, and the
control system with BRITE® that covers
4200 units.
With the new Airfield Lighting and
Control System (ALCS), Siemens meets
the highest standards in terms of
safety and reliability for a control
concept. And the Siemens' BRITE system
ensures all necessary flexibility in
the surface guidance of taxiing
aircraft.
