Typical function of a turntable with narrow edge leading (NEL)
or wide edge leading (WEL) is to turn ULD’s by 90°, 180° or 270°
to respect the leading edge requirement of the connecting decks
or reserves the door opening towards the operator for ULD build
up and breakdown.
The turntable is integrated in a base frame, on which is mounted
the ball bearing slewing ring for the upper section of the
turntable. The upper section of the turntable is driven via the
turntable drive in conjunction with a gear wheel which engages
in the ball bearing slewing ring. The deck is integrated in the
upper section of the turntable.
The turntable is equipped with a manual operated locking device.
The turning is controlled via operation panel or upper level
computer system as per client’s requirement.

connecting decks or reserves the door opening towards the
operator for ULD build up and breakdown.
The turntable is integrated in a base frame, on which is mounted
the ball bearing slewing ring for the upper section of the
turntable. The upper section of the turntable is driven via the
turntable drive. The RA deck is integrated in the upper section
of the turntable. Roller spacers arranged on each “half moon
deck” are driven by friction wheel drives.
